“35 million people in the U.S. are hungry or don’t know where their next meal is coming from, and 13 million of them are children. If another country were doing this to our children, we’d be at war.”

~ Jeff Bridges

Source and acquire

Our team works hard to identify and negotiate new relationships to help keep the Walker Area Food Shelf stocked with diverse, healthy, and requested items.

Distribute

Families that request assistance are given freedom to ‘shop’ like they would in the grocery store. Taking items from the shelves right to their cart, it’s practical and dignifying.

Evaluate

Data is always on our minds! How can we record, monitor, and improve what we do? How can we do more for less? These are the adventures we embark on!

Strategize

Every month we discuss strategies as a Board. We lean on our volunteers to provide insights – and the population we serve to guide us as we execute our mission.
